i know, i know, waaaaaay overdue......

as the title says, yes i know i'm way past due for an update. unfortunately, that's due in part to IE being a pain in the ass and not letting me use links properly (i'd click the link, and nothing would happen) and the fact that WoW is rather addictive. i will try to update more regularly, i promise.

and now, now that i have the links working again (yay firefox!) my mandalas.
more pics and such to come later. promise.

interesting things

i should thank em for tagging me for the '7 random things', but i honestly don't know if i can do 7 things about myself. ah well, here goes:

THE RULES:
1. Once you are tagged, link back to the person who tagged you.
2. Post THE RULES on your blog.
3. Post 7 weird or random facts about yourself on your blog.
4. Tag 7 people and link to them.
5. Comment on their blog to let them know they have been tagged.

1. i cannot draw to save my life. i honestly can't. i even mess up stick figures. however, i can do mandalas. (links to my done mandalas to be provided later, since the add pic feature does not like me right now.)

2. i am a fast reader. i don't speed read, i just go through books quickly. an example: it took me about 4 hours to go through potter book 7. no lie, started at 12:30, finished it at around 4:30.

3. i have a weird memory. i can easily remember and recall small, trivial things, but for the life of me can't remember big things.

4. my favorite episode of m*a*s*h, the last one. the one that makes me cry, every time, the one where henry dies.

5. i have a black thumb. i kill just about every plant i bring into my room. (except for one, and that one hung on just to spite me)

6. i love rpgs. most, if not all, of my games are rpgs. guild wars, world of warcraft, golden sun, castlevania, etc.....you get the idea.

7. i procrastinate. frequently. an example is this post. i started it yesterday afternoon around this time, i am finishing it today.....

people=idiots (well, most people)

never, ever work in retail. unless you have to. you learn PDQ that most people are not as bright as you'd think. i learned this the hard way. most of the examples below are taken from my experience, so it may seem more like a rant.

example one: we have a bell on the counter we use when the cashier is out on the floor. it's generally set up right in plain view with a sign that says 'please ring for cashier.' do they ring it? of course not, the customers stand there looking around and grumbling.

example two: i'm ringing people through, when another customer comes up and stands off to the side for a moment. when the line clears, they come over and ask if i'm the register. they watch me ring people up, then ask...makes me want to swat them.

example three: people often try to use coupons for items other than what the coupon is for. then they get huffy when you say you can't use it.

example four: we have tags up that compare a namebrand item to our version. most people think the tag says the namebrands on sale, when all it does is list both items prices.

....and that's just in my area. i'm sure this happens in stores all over. so please, for the sake of the people who work in retail, take the time to read the signs.

forgetfulness, round two

the title says it all. i am nothing, if not forgetful. i see the link for this on my favorites, and i skip right over it......

moving along, nothing new to add. life's been good to me, although the technology i deal with hasn't.
i work in the photo lab of a local drugstore, and the one-hour lab we have qualifies as a dinosaur. the company that made it went under some ten years back, and we can only get refurbished parts to fix it.
today, there was a normal error (one i've seen before and knew how to fix), but not in the usual place. so i had to call the tech line (again; called once earlier for another problem). tech couldn't get out today, but they will be in tomorrow to fix it. yay.

forgetfulness. i has it

yeah, like the title says i'm forgetful. trivial things i can remember no problem, but important things disappear. like a teacher once put it, "mind like a steel sieve."

anyways, to recap since my last post: the holidays passed peacefully at home. kate's friend holly (whom i also know) came for a week, though i didn't get to see much of her. however, we did spend about two and half hours on thursday just singing and listening to music while i made her a cd. 'twas a blast.

lazy day

ahhh, a nice lazy day after christmas. time to sit back and enjoy the stuff my family- and santa- got me. new music, new mandala supplies (and a way to organize them), new clothes, a new dvd.....christmas was good.
